Brisbane Dance and Theater Workshop (BDW) was founded in 1981 as a non profit organization providing performing arts training and performance experiences.

All classes are taught by professional artists known for their artistic accomplishments and have a strong passion for teaching. Each teaching artist is presently involved in their professional career, choreographing, producing vocal albums, and/or performing in professional dance and or theater companies.

The Performing Arts is an ideal medium for physical, emotional and creative release. The study of creative process and technique allows a growing child and young adult to strive for perfection, while at the same time becoming more aware of their uniqueness with greater confidence. It also allows the student to learn and experience the importance of each individual within a group, working together, to bring about a final public performance.

Classes are taught for ages 3 through adult and include, Creative Movement, Modern, Tap, Irish, Ballet, Hip –Hop, Voice and Theater.

BDW offers three class sessions from September to June. Each session is 10 to 14 weeks in duration. The last session is closed to new students. All classes are held in the city of Brisbane.

BDW holds one major fundraiser a year, our Annual Evening of Entertainment & Silent Auction. The money raised from this event, keeps class costs low, provides scholarships and helps cover the production cost of the spring performance.
